Road resurfacing set to start
9 January 2018
Road resurfacing works on the Gateway Extension Motorway between Compton Road and Logan Road will commence in January 2018. The work will be undertaken each weekend from Friday 8pm to Monday 5am, and will take approximately nine months to complete. More information is available here.

Holiday shutdown
20 December 2017
The Logan Enhancement Project will shut down for the end-of-year holiday period from Friday 22 December 2017 and resume construction activities on Tuesday 2 January 2018.
The community relations team will be available from Monday 8 January 2018. For any urgent enquiries between the 22 December 2017 and 8 January 2018 please contact 1800 195 308.

Team makes a difference this festive season

The Transurban Queensland and CPB Contractors Logan Enhancement Project teams have rallied together to give those doing it tough some joy, hope and a reason to celebrate this festive season.
Transurban Queensland Project Director, Andrew Baker, said the teams filled 10 bags full of food to give to Queenslanders who would otherwise have very little this Christmas.
“During construction of the $512 million motorway upgrade project, we are committed to being a good neighbour by giving back to the local community,” Andrew said.
“We are proud to give back to such a worthy cause, and understand that Christmas isn’t always a happy time for some people.
“We hope the donated food brings some enjoyment this holiday season,” Andrew said.
Site tour

Nine undergraduate engineering students recently got the chance to visit Logan Enhancement Project worksites, getting a first-hand experience on how major infrastructure projects are constructed.
The site tour included a drive-through of the project corridor, before the students were escorted onto site to inspect piles that have been bored for the new Gateway Extension Motorway bridges at Scrubby Creek and Illaweena Street.
Students also got to hear from people representing the vast array of disciplines that are integral to the successful delivery of projects, including engineering and community/stakeholder relations personnel.
We wish the students the best of luck with the remainder of their studies.

Working in the community

The Logan Enhancement Project team is committed to working closely with the community during construction of the project.
This commitment takes many forms, including working with residents that live in close proximity to work sites and motorists that use the go via network, as well as partnering with local groups to leave a positive lasting legacy.

Yellow men on-site to promote safety

You may have noticed yellow, life-size corflute construction worker figures erected in various locations within the Logan Enhancement Project corridor.
The placement of each cut-out is important – it marks the location of critical underground construction monitoring equipment.
The yellow worker figures promote awareness for the construction team’s plant operators; so that the settlement devices can be clearly seen, and not disturbed during plant operation.
Another benefit of the yellow figures is that they are often clearly visible to motorists travelling through project construction work zone. They act as a reminder to motorists of the human element of construction, assisting in keeping safety top of mind when travelling through these areas.

With construction well underway on Transurban Queensland’s $512 million Logan Enhancement Project, the design and construct contractor, CPB Contractors, is partnering with local Logan not-for-profit organisation, YFS, during construction.
Transurban Queensland Project Director, Andrew Baker, said being a good neighbour by giving back to the local community is a key priority during construction of the motorway upgrade project.
“We are committed to working with our contractor and the local community on meaningful initiatives that will have a positive impact long after construction is completed,” Mr Baker said.
“YFS is a deserving organisation that delivers a range of services to the people of Logan – they really make a difference to those that are doing it tough.
”The partnership with YFS involves a number of initiatives, including providing on-the-job training for Logan locals.
“YFS has a number of trainees obtaining a Certificate 1 in Environmental Conservation and Land Management, and we are providing them with hands-on experience on a major infrastructure project.
“Over the past few weeks, the trainees have worked alongside the project’s Environment Team, assisting with activities such as water quality testing, and shadowed the various construction crews, gaining valuable insights into how major road projects are delivered.”
YFS Development Manager – Social Enterprise, Tony Sharp, said YFS is pleased to be partnering with CPB Contractors through the Logan Enhancement Project.
“The on-the-job component of the partnership offers work placement and skill development in a real world environment,” Mr Sharp said.
“The time taken by the team at CPB Contractors to provide information sessions, onsite inductions and an open and inclusive workplace has not gone unnoticed by our team.
“We are looking forward to a long and productive partnership that offers many more opportunities to all concerned. This includes the Logan Enhancement Project team offering ‘Home Starter Packs’ to make the transition to independent living a more pleasurable experience for our people.”
